On feb 23rd, count Claus-Casimir of Orange-Nassau laid the ceremonial first stones to the new extensions to the Panorama Mesdag building. With the help of his grandfather, former minister Laurens Jan Brinkhorst and under the watchfull eye of the gathered press and friends of the Panorama Mesdag, the young count seemed unfazed by the cold snowy weather and laid a sturdy row of brickwork.
The ceremonial start of the construction of the extensions coincided with the 180th birthday of Hendrik Willem Mesdag.
