Director and SPi-V memory problem
Submitted by k_kwiatek on December 23, 2008 - 11:16.
Hi,
Do you know this problem?
After visiting 20 panoramas (in any combination) in my virtual tour created with Director MX 2004 and SPi-V there is an error:
Director Player Error: Script Player Error. Continue?
This error appears after visiting 20 panoramas in my virtual tour. You can go different ways and see different panoramas but after 20 panoramas you will see this error which stops my virtual tour.
Do you know this problem?
Is it because of the memory of the graphic card? I have 128MB VRAM.
Merry Christmas!

Re: Director and SPi-V memory problem
Is this in an online tour using SPi-V.dcr 'normally', or using SPi-V.dcr as a sprite inside Director? If the latter, is it doing the same as a projector? Are you loading panoramas from external files, or from cast members?
What (pixel) size are the panoramas?
Re: Director and SPi-V memory problem
Hi Aldo,
I use Spi-V.dcr as a sprite inside Director.
About 30 panoramas are in a cast file. I use 'protect' option when updating files in Director.
Panoramas are max. 5000x2500. Cast file with panoramas is about 700MB.
Do you know this problem?

Re: Director and SPi-V memory problem
No, it is not something I have seen before, really. That's probably because I personally never put the panoramas in the Director cast. Apparently, Director is not 'unloading' the panoramas once they are loaded into memory (regular RAM, not video RAM).
You may want to experiment with manually unloading the panoramas from memory a couple of seconds after they are loaded into SPi-V. Look up the unLoadMember() method in the Director Help.
