SPI-V - Director problems
Submitted by braincooler on August 31, 2006 - 18:16.
Hi Aldo,
I downloaded myself your Tutorial to the topic “Using SPI-V in Director”. Already with try out "integration basics.dir-file" constantly comes an error message with the following contents:
Script error: Handler not defined
#newObjekt
According to your Tutorial the example would have to function actually immediately and to show cathedral.jpg - picture.
Can you say to me please where the error lie?
Thanks in advance and many greetings.

version?
What version of Director are you using?
Are you sure about the spelling of #newObjekt? If anything, I would be using newObject (with a c).
It is likely you need a newer version of the Flash Xtra. I will investigate what versions are affected.
Please type this in the 'message window' (CTRL+M):

I use Director version 8.5.
I use Director version 8.5.
Here is the result of CTRL+M:

I see
Apparently, SPi-V will not currently function with the Flash Xtra in Director 8.5. You may want to experiment with replacing the Flash Asset.x32 in your Director folder with the Flash Asset.x32 in your Shockwave folder. Be sure to keep a backup of the original file though, this is very much untested.
Upgrading to Director MX or MX 2004 would solve the problem straight away.
Thank your for the fast
Thank your for the fast answer.
The idea with the file Flash Asset.x32 has unfortunately not functioned.
I will try to upgrade Director8.5 to MX or MX 2004.
Fixed in 1.3.9

Still problems
I have downloaded today SPi-V 1.3.9.
After I replaced the SPi-V.dcr in the folder appears would have another error message nevertheless:
Script error: Xtra not found
"ActionScriptObjects"
Do I need perhaps still additional Xtras?
doh!
ok, SPi-V 1.3.9 is still not compatible with Director 8.5 and MX when it comes to embedding it into another movie... Sorry about getting your hopes up.
I'll dig up an older copy and see what I can do.
Ok
Thanks for the effort.
If you find an older, suitable version - hold me please up to date.
It will finaly be fixed in
It will finaly be fixed in 1.3.10, which I am working on. Sorry for the inconvenience
